Dale, born 2005
Dale was born on February 11, 2005 with Transposition of the Great Arteries, two Ventricular Septal Defects and an Atrial Septal Defect.
He had surgery six days after birth at New York Presbyterian. He was hospitalized for 4 1/2 months after surgery with numerous complications. His surgery was so difficult because he had an embedded right coronary artery. Our amazing little boy survived a delayed chest closure, right heart failure, a 45 minute cardiac arrest, a huge clot that required two doses of TPA, and many others.
Today, our son is doing very good and we are thankful for every minute that we have with him. We left the hospital and never looked back. We feel very blessed and will never take him for granted! Every day he brings us so much joy and happiness.
