Elise, born 2008

Elise Michael was born on April 21, 2008. She had third degree heart block which led to a pacemaker placement when she was 9 days old.  Suddenly, her heartbeat went from 50 pbm to 130 bpm with the help of this small device.

 

When Elise was 3 months old, she was diagnosed with dilated cardiomyopathy (DCM).  This disease causes dilation of the left ventricle and affected the squeeze of her.  Although the challenges of dealing with this disease are ongoing, one look at Elise gives us strength to continue.

 

She is a playful and happy 9 month old who LOVES her big brother, kicking, and baths.  She despises ECHOs, EKGs, and eating. We love you Elise. Stay strong.
