Luke, born 2008

Luke was born February 22, 2008. He is our angel baby. Five hours after birth, he was diagnosed with Transposition of the Great Arteries. He was airlifted to the Medical University of South Caroline, where he had the Balloon Septostomy procedure to buy time. Four days later, our Luke, only 6 days old, had the arterial switch operation.

 

Dr. Tain-Yen Hsia will never be forgotten. He saved our precious boy and mended his broken heart. I am reminded each day as I look at Luke's scar, of the wonderful nurses and doctors that cared for our baby and ultimately saved his life. We have never questioned why Luke was born with his broken heart; instead we have leaned on the Lord and witnessed the power of prayer.

 

Today, Luke is a happy, healthy little boy. He brings so much love and happiness to our family. Looking at him, you would never know how much he has been through. We are so thankful for each and every day with him.
