Riley, born 2008

Riley was born December 30, 2008 with Transposition of the Great Arteries.  We had no idea of this until the doctor came in to let us know. We knew something wasn't right because she was very pale, almost blue. 

 

They took her immediately to our Children's Hospital in Mississippi.  She had a balloon atrioseptostomy about eight hours later to prolong her life.  We flew by UAB med flight to Children's National Medical Center in Washington, DC and she had surgery at four days old.  We were there for about two weeks and finally came home. 

 

We see her cardiologist, Dr. Gaymes, every six weeks now and she is improving with every visit. 

She is a healthy, sweet little baby.  She is my little miracle.
